Getting Started with DBT Therapy & DBT Groups
With all of the treatment options available to you, it can be overwhelming to decide which one will give you the best chance at a successful recovery from your psychiatric disorder. Whether you are suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder, depression, substance abuse, or another psychiatric disorder, the DBT Center of Southern California can help you get the treatment you need.
The DBT Center of Southern California in Los Angeles is the only program on the West Coast that offers a complete continuum of care, including residential DBT, day treatment DBT, and outpatient DBT programs. Our experienced intake team can help you determine which level of care is right for you. Clients may enter treatment at the appropriate level of care and transition based on their individual needs.
When you call the DBT Center of Southern California, you will speak with a supportive intake specialist and schedule a clinical needs assessment. Assessments, which usually take about an hour, can be done over the phone or in person. All of our assessments are free and completely confidential.
Assessment Procedure for DBT Groups and Treatment
To help determine whether you would be most successful in our residential, day treatment, or outpatient DBT treatment program, you will be asked during your assessment to provide information about why you are seeking treatment. You will also be asked to provide information on your presenting problems, general health, history of substance abuse and mental health issues, trauma history, employment history, as well as a variety of other information.
Our intake specialist will also collect additional clinical information based on your assessment, including prior mental health and addiction treatments, hospital records, any prior DBT treatment, and necessary family input. By gathering all of this information about you, we will be able to help you enter treatment at the appropriate level of care so that you can get the most benefit from your DBT skills groups and individual DBT therapy.
Before enrolling at the DBT Center of Southern California, you will be able to tour one of our many DBT treatment facilities. When you feel ready to enter residential, day treatment, or outpatient treatment, we can help you finalize your finances and schedule a check-in time or start date.
